Manly Beach, NSW

Manly Beach

Australia Summer 2016.

Before the summer ends, we decided to visit a well-knowned NSW beach. We’re choosing between Bondi and Manly Beach, both are close to our place. And from the advises of our colleagues, we gave Manly Beach a go!

Train Ride to Circular Quay

Wharf 3 to Manly

Ferry Ride

Transportation: Since we already reached 8 rides in a week, going to Manly Beach is a free ride. It took 10 minutes bus ride to Central, 5 minutes train ride Central to Circular Quay, and 20 minutes or so ferry ride to Manly. No sweat!

Manly Wharf

Location: The beach is about 5-10 mins away by foot from the ferry station. There were cafes, groceries, shops along the way so no worries if you forgot your bikini, sunblock etc. Everything is readily-available around the area.

Food: We bought snacks and drinks from Coles and had it on the beach.

Flagged area

Beach: Best for surfers because of the excellent, high and strong waves. They even have an area only for surfing, cannot swim at all because its dangerous. There is a flagged area for swimming but it’s quite small and it’s crowded. The water was cold  considering it’s summer and brown sand all-over. Not that impressed but that’s me. People will continue to recommend this beach if you ask them. How I miss Boracay and Maldives!

On that note, we packed up early and went home.
